Carl Schenk AG in Darmstadt is a subsidiary of the globally active technology corporation DÜRR AG in Stuttgart and, as a holding company, carries out crucial tasks for its divisions. The company was founded over 125 years ago by the German technology pioneer Carl Schenck. Operative business is now managed by the division Balancing and Assembly Products, to which Schenck RoTec GmbH belongs, along with Dürr Assembly Products GmbH in Püttlingen and Dürr Somac GmbH in Stollberg.

Schenck RoTec, Darmstadt, is the global leader in balancing technology and has been producing tailor-made balancing and diagnostic solutions for 100 years. Schenck RoTec offers a complete spectrum of products and services which ensure the quality of rotating and oscillating machine components and assemblies. It serves various industries such as the automobile and electronics industry, the aerospace industry, the turbo machine industry and the machine construction industry. In 2006 Schenck RoTec, as the world market leader, received the “Hessen Champion” prize. This prize is given by the German state of Hessen and the Hessen Association of Entrepreneurs to companies that produce innovative products.
Global and regional activities
In Darmstadt, today there are almost 500 employees; on a worldwide basis, there are more than 1,500. Various cultural activities, carried out in co-operation with local institutions, also reflect the company’s significance in Darmstadt and the surrounding region. For over 20 years, the company has carried on an intensive exchange with the Technical University of Darmstadt and the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft.
